December 4, 2007 6:07 am Weightloss TipsAre you tired of feeling out of shape all the time? Does the number on the weight scale seem to never go down? If you’re ready to start losing weight right now, I’ll tell you the basic steps in getting started into your weight-loss journey. I’ll inform you about supplements, exercise and training, and also what you should and should not be eating. Losing weight is no easy task, and should not be taken lightly. It’s a difficult journey, and the results you want to achieve will only depend on your own willingness to succeed.
Let’s talk about supplements! We’ve all seen them in the ads of newspapers, magazines, and even in the television of your own home. Every time you read or see an advertisement, they always seem to promise you awesome results without you having to do nothing. Want to know the truth about supplement companies? Most companies out there are so determined to get your dollars worth, and they will say anything to get it. Even if they have to lie about their own product, they’ll go that far if they have to. Yep, it’s true. Now there are a few products out there that are legit, but in order for some of these supplements to work at their maximum potential… Your diet and exercise program both have to be in check.
Dieting- Oh the ole’ so gruesome word that some of us may despise. Even for me, dieting is not fun. But in order to lose weight and burn fat effectively, you have to start eating right. You heard right folks! No more mcdonalds, no more junk food, no more soda, and no more fast food! We have to start eating smart and if you are so determined to do so, let’s start today. Now, you don’t necessarily have to cut every single junk food out of your current diet. Incorporate a cheat day. Let’s start it off as once a week. Out of one day of the week, you can eat whatever you choose. But let’s not go over-board with this privilege, treat yourself. As for smart foods, you should consume foods that are high in healthy nutrients while keeping the consumption of calories to a minimum.
Now that we’ve discussed dieting, onward to exercise and training! This is yet another term that some of us may seem to loathe. I’ll suggest both anaerobic and aerobic training. The difference between the two are the training conditions. Anaerobic training involves working muscles at a high intensity but with a low duration. Aerobic training involves working muscles at a lower intensity but with a longer duration. I’m leaning more towards anaerobic training, aka weight lifting. Your source of burning calories is your metabolism right? With aerobic training, you only burn calories during your workout session, and your metabolism slows down thereafter. With anaerobic training on the other hand, not only do you burn calories during your lifting session, but your body also burns calories hours and hours after you completed your workout session. When your muscle fibers break down during lifting, it takes energy to rebuild and repair your muscles. What energy is your body using? Yep, calories! Now, you don’t really have to integrate an exercise program… Just know that if you do incorporate an exercise program, it’ll speed things up way faster and help achieve your goals more efficiently.
If you are looking to lose weight, you should incorporate some of these helpful tips that I’ve discussed above. Don’t wait until the last minute, let’s start this weight-loss journey now! And note that it takes time to see results. Just because you followed some of these tips for one day, doesn’t mean you’re going to be fifty pounds lighter in the morning. Persistence and consistency are the keys to success. Now that I’ve shown you the door, are you willing to make sacrifices to walk through that door? It’s all on you.
