Alli is the latest diet pill hype. We hear about it all over the internet and the television. But does it really work?

Alli is an over-the-counter diet pill, it is another name for orlistat which you can get from your doctor in prescription form as Xenical. Basically Alli is a fat blocker. It blocks some of the fat you absorb from foods from entering your body. It is the one freely available drug that the FDA approves. It sounds great doesn’t it? Wait, you must read on. Many people think that if they take Alli that they can eat all the fatty foods they want and still lose weight. This is an big misconception! If you are planning to use Alli you should also have a healthy low fat diet plan you plan to follow.

The amount of weight that has been lost will Alli varies, according to many case studies. In a study where people took Alli for one year almost half of the subjects experienced a 5% or greater loss of body mass. If Alli is taken in conjunction with a low calorie and low fat diet plan than better results are expected. The participants in the study gained one third of the weight they had lost back after they stopped using alli, but most dieters gain some of the weight they lose after they stop following their diet plan.

Like with most diet pills, Alli does have its side effects. The main disadvantage is that Alli causes frequent bowel movements. The higher in fat the food you eat is the side effects will be greater. Loose stools, flatulence and bowel incontinence will be experienced, especially when you first start taking Alli. Accidents can even happen.

However if you stick to an low fat diet than the side effects will be reduced. One thing you must remember is that Alli will not do all the work for you. Alli does claim to improve your weight loss up to 50% but you must also change your eating habits and exercise daily. If you are willing to deal with the side effects of Alli and willing to follow an low fat diet plan than Alli is for you. Make sure you check with your doctor first. If you are not, than Alli isn’t for you.

Are you falling prey to merchants?

Marketers of any product cater to the existing need of the market promoting their products and services through claims and promises which aim to solve a problem. When the product fails to keep its promise, it would normally fail, though the marketer tries his best to sustain the demand. Weight loss products interestingly, never seem to fade away, except a few of course, though they repeatedly fail to keep its promise.

The reason for this is simple. The fad for speedy weight loss has not faded! The demand for such miraculous products is so great that even if it fails in one market, another would pick it up. Weight loss is every one’s pet dream and the marketers of weight loss diets and supplements are intelligent dream merchants who feed on to the customer’s dream with lofty promises, celebrity endorsements and every other conceivable advertising tool to make their claims trustworthy.

It is not surprising anymore that you have also fallen prey to their incredible advertising claims of making you lose those extra pounds by the simple act of swallowing a magic potion or an equally magical pill. You have probably paid them substantial amount of your savings and have waited eternally for the magic to happen, only to find the weight you were dreaming to get rid of, has staged a come back..

So what is the truth behind weight loss? The first action step you need to do is to stop looking at those glam photos in the weight loss ads and take a realistic view of your weight loss goal. How much you wish to lose, from which part of your anatomy and within what time frame are three simple questions you have to answer your self.

The second action step that you need to do, if you are serious about getting back to shape and have your doctor’s consent on such matters, is to bring about a drastic change in your diet and include an optimum amount of physical exercise regularly.

One of the harsh truths that you have to understand is that losing weight is impossible in a short span of time – and even if you do, such crash diet programs may have serious health implications sooner or later. So the best option for you to do is to take your time, work out a balanced diet plan, preferably in consultation with a qualified dietician or your doctor and chalk out a feasible and practical exercise plan, which you can continue everyday.

One of the biggest pitfalls of following a strict diet and physical exercise plan is that we lose interest in the whole program in one week flat. Why does this happen? It is because: we do not have enough mental discipline to continue with what we have started with all good intention; we have set very tough goals and find it impossible to reach them which results in losing motivation and interest.

Changing your diet, incidentally does not mean leaving all the food that you liked and going on a near ascetic abstinence formula. Eat balanced food, rich in vegetables and fruits and fiber, leaving out red meat, fried food and aerated drinks. Make exercising a habit preferably at a gym or with a friend so that you have company when you want to communicate, etc.

Essentially, losing weight does not involve in falling prey to tall and impossible claims or going of a crash diet. Instead, the success of any weight loss program largely depends on you, your determination and the will to see it to the end till such times that you have achieved your weight loss goals.

Best Fat Burners?

Nothing matches the ephedrine and caffeine stacks. Okay, maybe the drug DNP, but that’s in its own separate category. Ephedrine and caffeine are cheap and effective and keep on working without losing the effect. Unfortunately, they pose negative health risks and have become more difficult to obtain because of government regulations. Ephedrine is still readily available in Canada at supplements retailers like Sport Nutrition Depot and Popeye’s, which makes ephedrine smuggling commonplace. Caffeine is the classic thermogenic compound of course. By itself it has only a mild effect, but it always seems to potentiate the effect of other compounds. Another fat burner that’s getting attention is green tea. Or more accurately, it’s active compound, ECGC. Several studies have documented a measurable thermogenic effect when ECGC is combined with caffeine.

Forskolin, a.k..a. Colus Forskohlii, is one of the most remarkable compounds we’ve seen in years. Forskolin skips the normal receptor signaling pathways in fat cells and might help get rid of stubborn fat. Patented forslean is a very potent form. It’s been clinically proven to deliver fat-burning and muscle building effects. Coleus forskohlii is even in the soon to be released cell volumizer Anavol Hardcore, along with virtually every cell volumizer agent known to man.

When choosing a fat burner, you’re good to go with a product that contains the ingredients listed above, along with yohimbine and newer fat-loss agents like beta-phenylethylanime, aka BPEA, chlorogenic acid and a few others. One of the best selling bodybuilding fat burners is lipo-6X. (the one that has two capsules in one.) Which was developed by Nutrex. Other popular fat burners include: Tight Hardcore, Methyl Ripped, Lean System 7 and Xenadrine Super Hardcore.

There’s a huge amount of excitement in the industry over the updated version of Methyl Ripped, called Methyl Ripped Hardcore. Ryan Foley, one of the lead scientists who put together this exciting new product, assure me that it will be up to eight times stronger than the original formula. I was one of the guys on the team that formulated the original Methyl Ripped, and I can say that it’s definitely the best legal fat burner I’ve used since the ephedra days. So if Methyl Ripped Hardcore is stronger than the original, sign me up!
